Troubleshoot conflicts with Graphic Card/VideoLUTs or quality - MacOS 10.x

1. Computer freezes or program shuts down while measuring color patches
2. Poor results with the new profile
3. Display looks pixelated or distorted after profiling
4. Profile is not being engaged after rebooting or returning from sleep or hibernate. 

On MacOS 10.X conflicts with graphics cards are quite rare. If the resulting profile provides poor quality or unexpected results, check the following settings:

• Turn off the Auto-Brightness-Adjustment in System Preferences -> Displays. This feature is common with Mac Laptop Displays with a built-in camera as well as many new iMac and Apple LED displays.

• Make sure, that the Contrast slider is set to "Normal" (far left position) in System Preferences > Universal Access. Do not ever adjust this setting within a monitor calibration procedure.

• Turn off the "Translucent Menu Bar" option in System Preferences > Desktop&Appearance.

• Turn off the Energy Saving options for Laptop Displays in System Preferences > Energy

If these presets do not solve the issue, please do the following in exactly this order:

1. Quit the ColorMunki Display application if it is running
2. Reset the monitor to factory defaults if the monitor’s OSD/menu has the option
3. Open “System Preferences”  
4. Click on “Displays”
5. For the display being profiled, click on the “Color” tab
6. Uncheck the “Show profiles for this display only” option
7. Select a profile called “DisplayProfile_Linear.icc” by clicking on it in the profile list***
8. Close the “System Preferences” window
9. Launch ColorMunki Display
10. Select “ColorMunki Display” from the Menu bar and then click on “Preferences”.   
11. Set Display Technology type to correct setting for the display
12. Unselect “Enable ADC” to disable this option
13. Enable “Achieve display luminance value using video LUTs” option
14. Close “Preferences”
15. Profile the display using the “Advanced” mode as well as “D65” for white point and “Native” for luminance.
16. If these results are good, feel free to profile to a specific luminance level.

*** If the “DisplayProfiler_Linear.icc” is not in the profile list, do the following:

1. Right click (or control-click) on the ColorMunki Display and select “Show Package Contents”
2. Click on “Contents” and then “Resources”
3. Copy the “XRite_LinearProfile.icc” from the “Resources” folder.
4. Paste the linear profile to the System Library > ColorSync > Profiles.
5. The profile will show as “XRite_LinearProfile.icc” but will appear as “DisplayProfile_Linear.icc” (internal name) when selecting in Display Preferences.

Repeat this procedure at least once more and then build a new display profile using whatever settings that was previously desired.
