Restoring customer files is used to restore customer files from ColorDesigner v5.50 and newer on a v5.50 and newer system. This feature is also used to restore customer files on older version systems, if the files come from those older versions. This will typically need to be done if the customer had to reinstall their software, received a new system, or if a customer's file was deleted in the database, but exists on a previous backup.
Below are the instructions on how to restore customer files:
Click on Housekeeping.
Unlock with Housekeeping password. The default Housekeeping password is 1234.
Click on Customer Files.
Click on Backup/Restore.
Click on the magnify glass/file folder directly above the Restore button.
On the new window, click on the down arrow to select the drive letter. This will be the location that you backed your customer files to. If they were backed up to a diskette, that would usually be A:. If they were backed up to an USB flash drive, that would usually be the last drive letter in the list.
Double-click on the backup file.
Click on the Restore button.
You should receive a message stating that the restore is done. Click OK and your files should be in the customer file database.
