Densitometers and colorimeters all require periodic calibration to ensure accurate measurements. Begin by locating the Auto-Cal strip (PN DTP32-100). It is located in a protective envelope. This is a certified media. It should be cared for and replaced every 18 months. An expiration date is printed on both the card and its protective envelope. To calibrate:
Apply power to the meter; wait until its self-test concludes.
Access the main menu via pressing the two right-hand keys at the same time.
Using the first key, press repeatedly until the word "cal" appears on the LCD.
Press the "cal" key.
Next press the "den" key. The unit will immediately respond by calibrating its transmission optics. Do NOT insert the calibration media yet!
When prompted, insert the Auto-Cal strip. The unit will pull the strip through. In a few seconds it should beep, display "CALIBRATION OK", and then return to its main menu.
Return the Auto-Cal strip to its protective envelope.
