On rare occasions, the ColorEye XTH may fail to respond to the instrument keypad. It acts as if it is somehow locked. Below are instructions that will cold boot the microprocessor and return the instrument to normal service.
Note: Cold booting a unit will erase all stored readings. Back-up all readings on a computer before performing this function.
To perform a cold boot, put the unit to sleep then wake it up by repeatedly pressing the left arrow key. The unit will then only display the Menu Bar, select OPTIONS. Two items will be listed; Force Cold Boot and Jump to App (which restarts the unit without a cold boot). Select the first (Force Cold Boot), and the unit will reset.
