VeriColor was designed to be robust and reliable. Below is a list of error codes and their meaning, followed by several FAQs. Many error situations are recoverable. Error codes are indicated any time the 2-digit display is flashing on/off. Refer to the VeriColor Troubleshooting document located on the CD for information on handling these error conditions.Hub Error Codes
Non-Flashing “01” – Hub Ready Mode, Learn LED Off, LED Array all off After System Test Mode completes, the hub always selects the first standard as indicated by the “01” and is ready to measure samples.
Flashing “01” – System Test Mode Each time VeriColor ID powers up, it will enter this test state. During this time the hub is waiting for the heads to come up to operating temperature. Output LEDs that have corresponding sensor heads attached illuminate red when the head(s) is warming up, and then amber when the head(s) is up to temperature and ready to measure.
As soon as all available sensor heads report that they are ready, the hub immediately returns to Sample Operating mode. Typically, this should take no longer than 30-40 seconds from a temperature of 23°C. Heads at a colder temperature need more time. A system that has been up and running for a while will move through this mode quite quickly as everything is already up to temperature.
Flashing “02” – Master Head List Error After the hub goes through learning a Standard or Targeting Mode, it memorizes the current configuration of the heads. After the System Test Mode, if the hub sees any difference in what heads it currently has versus previous it enters this error state. This could happen quite easily, for example, a new head is added to the system, a head dies, or cables are switched around (so the head order changes).
Flashing “03” - Head Timeout Error The hub was attempting to communicate to a Head and it did not respond within a certain time frame. The LED array illuminates amber to indicate which Head is having trouble.
Flashing “04” - Head returned a Bad Measurement A Head was instructed to measure and returned an error code. The LED array illuminates amber to indicate which head(s) is having trouble.
Flashing “05” – Bad Head Reported During warm-up mode, the head responded with a Bad Hardware status. The LED array illuminates amber to indicate which Head is having trouble.
Flashing “06” – Datastore Error This code can appear if after updating the firmware there is a data structure change, or a serious error has occurred to the datastore values in the hub.
