Error Extracting Color Patches ColorChecker Camera Calibration
Profile creation is generating a message stating "Error extracting color patches" and will not allow the process to complete.
In most cases if you see the message that the ColorChecker Camera Calibration software has an error extracting color patches you have one of the following scenarios.
The ColorChecker Passport is too small in your selected image for the software to have enough pixel information to create an accurate profile.
Your image is slightly overexposed, causing the luminance level on some of the lighter color patches to be equal to or higher than the white patch. When this happens, the calculation that determines the location of the patches becomes confused and cannot detect the patches.
Your native Raw file has an internal rotation that is affecting the automatic patch detection in the Lightroom plugin. This is a known issue with some camera bodies. You can work around this problem by exporting a DNG file from Lightroom and creating a profile in the ColorChecker Camera Calibration standalone software.
