The trick to color success isn’t just selecting the right tools. You need to know how to use them. Even the most expensive spectrophotometer won’t be helpful if you don’t know which aperture size to choose during setup or which tolerancing model to follow.
Since color workflows are specific to industry, products, and color needs, it’s not possible to establish one single process that works for everyone. That’s where X-Rite Color Experts come in. Whether you need help getting up to speed with new equipment or maximizing the value of the equipment you already have, they can teach you how to use your color management tools to get the best possible color while reducing the costs associated with of setup, scrap and rework.
X-Rite Professional Color Services offers a variety of learning opportunities to fit your schedule and budget, including seminars, classroom workshops, custom onsite training, and eLearning courses. Color Experts will even come to your site to audit and analyze your processes and provide custom training and guidance for everyone involved in the workflow on topics ranging from basic color theory to specific product installation and instruction.
Today we’ll look at the different types of training offered by our Color Experts, and direct you to the courses available for your industry.
Knowledge is power!
eLearning
We know it can be hard to get away from the workplace, so we offer a full library of interactive, online courses on general color theory, as well as X-Rite software, devices, and workflows. Created by Color Experts, these courses explore all aspects of color, equipment care and use, software knowledge and applications, and workflow support. Each course consists of a blend of informative presentations, software demonstrations, and even interactive segments and workbooks that allow you to practice what you’ve learned.
Courses are organized into modules, so you can start, pause, stop and return as your schedule allows, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Plus, each module has an optional quiz at the end so you can make sure you’re learning the important stuff. Many classes also come with an X-Rite Pantone certification.

Classroom Workshops
Classroom training options are great for individuals who need certification or more in-depth color knowledge. Since you’re away from the interruptions and distractions of the workplace, you can stay focused, then quickly apply what you learned when you get home. We offer a wide variety of courses at our state-of-the-art training facilities in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Regensdorf, Switzerland, as well as at our local sales offices around the world. Participants work at their own workstations using the latest software and equipment, and Color Experts teach using hands-on activities, demonstrations, and real-world examples.

Seminars
X-Rite seminars provide a fun and easy way to get up to speed on color theory, process control and color management. Our two most popular are the Fundamentals of Color and Appearance (FOCA), where attendees learn about the effect of different light sources on the perception of color, explore methods of color communication, and learn how to visually and numerically evaluate color. For industrial applications, the hands-on Fundamentals of Instrumentation and Quality Control (FIQC) workshop allows participants to practice creating color standards, developing tolerances, measuring samples against targets, and comparing results.
