X-Rite Print Excellence Program
This program verifies the capabilities of print suppliers to validate they are working to the appropriate parameters and quality levels. Once a printer passes the program, they will be added to X-Rite’s Verified Printers list and awarded a program logo to use on their website and in marketing materials.
From here, brands can choose suppliers who they can trust to follow the highest quality standards.
The Print Excellence Program is designed for printers using an eXact spectrophotometer, ColorCert Pressroom Tools or Manager, NetProfiler and PantoneLIVE. Using these solutions together, printers can consistently hit target spot colors, print Pantone Colors to the published PantoneLIVE Digital Values, validate their printing quality, and meet the requirements of discerning brands.

To become a Print Excellence Verified Printer, a print provider must demonstrate competence and good process control in measuring, communicating, and correcting color.
Step 1: Audit Minimum Compliance
The Print Supplier:
- Completes an audit checklist for required subscriptions, software, hardware, and up to two dependent libraries.
- Provides information about their printing conditions, including Flexo, Offset, substrates, inks, and other details.
The X-Rite Color Expert:
- Reviews the supplied information to make sure everything is in place to evaluate color and validate PantoneLIVE Dependent Colors.
Step 2: Print Supplier Onboarding
The X-Rite Color Expert:
- Adds the print supplier to the X-Rite ColorCert Repository Server to access test files and instructions.
- Adds the print supplier to the X-Rite ScoreCard Server to submit print quality data.
- Sends a Launch Packet to the print supplier with all instructions and files for print testing.
Step 3: Print Quality Validation
The Print Supplier:
- Prints and measures the test files.
- Uses ColorCert to determine if they have produced color within the required specifications.
- Submits final measurements to the X-Rite ScoreCard server.
- Stores print samples for random quality audits. If selected for random audit, they will ship these samples to X-Rite for measurement validation.
Step 4: Sustain and Market
A Print Excellence Verified Printer can:
- Market themselves on X-Rite's Verified Printers page.
- Use the X-Rite Verified Printer logo on their website, emails, and marketing materials.
- Prove to brands they can produce accurate and consistent color matching to the Pantone Master and Dependent Color Standards.
Optional: Training and Consulting
To identify areas for refinement and improve the team’s overall performance, printers can purchase additional consultation and training from X-Rite.
