In partnership with Sun Chemical, X-Rite conducted a study to determine whether digital data can help beverage can manufacturers execute consistent color communication, accurate production, faster design, and more efficient print times.

Beverage Can Gauge R&R Study

For this study, operators from a beverage can production crew with varying experience were chosen to measure cans using the X-Rite Ci64 spectrophotometer and a sample holding fixture to measure printed metal beverage cans in the round. They measured two cans every 30 minutes from the start of a production run for the duration of one 8-hour shift.
