Bad data in iQC / iMatch with SP or 900 series instruments

Customers using Color iQC or Color iMatch with an X-Rite portable (SP62, SP64, 962 or 964), where the instrument is set to a language other than English, may need to force the instrument to use periods in the spectral data being sent to the computer.

Run HyperTerminal to change this setting:

  1. Connect the SP62, SP64, 962 or 964 to computer.

  2. Change the language in the SP62, SP64, 962 or 964 (example Spanish).

  3. Run HyperTerminal (Start, then Run "hypertrm.exe").

  4. Set HyperTerminal as follows...

    • Baud: 9600
    • Data Bits: 8
    • Parity: None
    • Stop bits: 1
    • Flow Control: None.
  5. Type this command using capital letters:  0022CF (zero, zero, two, two, C, F) then press ENTER [Note: you will not see what you type on the screen.].

  6. Then type in capital letters MP (M, P)  then press ENTER.

  7. Close HyperTerminal.

The instrument is now configured to send spectral data in the format needed by Color iQC and/or Color iMatch.  An instrument reset will cancel this option.
