X-Rite profiling software supports different digital camera profiling targets depending on which product and version is being used. The information below will help you identify which target you have and what software works with it. The name in quotes is the name displayed within the profiling software.
"GretagMacbeth ColorChecker (small)"
This is the original ColorChecker target used by many photographers before the era of digital cameras. It has four rows of six patches for a total of 24 patches. The bottom row containing neutral steps from white to black. It measures 11 inches wide by 8.5 inches high. This target can be used for digital camera profiling with MonacoDCcolor 1.0, MonacoPROFILER 4.5, MonacoPROFILER Platinum 4.6 and later, and PULSE ColorElite 1.0 and later. Note: While it has not been specifically tested, image captures of the 3.25 inch by 2.25 inch Mini ColorChecker should also work when "GretagMacbeth ColorChecker (small)" is selected in your profiling software.
"GretagMacbeth ColorCheckerDC"
This is the first target designed by GretagMacbeth specifically for profiling digital cameras. It has 12 rows of 20 patches, except the four center patches are merged to a single white patch, making a total of 237 patches. It measures 14 inches by 8.5 inches. The outer perimeter consists of white, black and gray patches for light balancing and additional gray steps surround the large white patch in the center. This target can be used for digital camera profiling with MonacoDCcolor 1.0, MonacoPROFILER 4.5, MonacoPROFILER Platinum 4.6 and later, and PULSE ColorElite 1.0 and later.
"GretagMacbeth ColorCheckerSG"
The latest camera profiling target from GretagMacbeth consists of 10 rows of 14 patches for a total of 140 patches on an 11 inch by 8.5 inch plaque. The outer perimeter consists of white, black and gray patches and the patches of the original ColorChecker reside in the region 2E to 5J. This target is currently only supported by MonacoPROFILER Platinum 4.7.x and PULSE ColorElite 1.0.x.
"HutchColor Target (Reflective)"
The HutchColor HCT target consists of 22 rows of 29 patches and is photographically printed on 5 inch by 7 inch Fuji Crystal Archive paper. The perimeter consists of white, black and gray patches and there a region in the lower left of the target is used for identifying marks. While this target is designed for profiling reflective scanners, it can also be used to profile digital cameras with with MonacoDCcolor 1.0, MonacoPROFILER 4.5, and MonacoPROFILER Platinum 4.6 and later.
