Begin by downloading the latest version of ToolCrib (v5.014 as of 10/13/2016). Note: Use the search tool to seek a more recent version. Search for "ToolCrib" then filter results by "Support" and "Product Downloads".
Next, configure ToolCrib to Connect to a VeriColor Spectro.
Launch ToolCrib and select "Generic" from the instrument list.
Click on "GO".
Set the Instrument connection parameters to . . .
RCI.
Serial.
The computer COMM port physically connected to the instrument.
Set the Baud Rate to 115,200 and then click "Connect".
You are now ready to test your connection.
Type "br" in the command field at the bottom, left-hand corner of the ToolCrib screen.
Click the "Send" button next to the command field. the "br" command will be displayed in red and 115,200 for the VeriColor Spectro will be displayed in blue (Note: The image below displays 19,200 baud. This is correct for VeriColor for Solo and Hub). This confirms the connection has been established.
Issue Remote Control Instructions (RCI commands) to Reset the VeriColor Spectro
Issue the following commands in the order shown. Issue all commands to completely reset your VeriColor Spectro to it's original factory settings. Note: Doing this will remove all data from the hub and your projects will need to be re-created.
Type "ge" in the command line of Tool Crib then click Send.
Type "ce" in the command line of Tool Crib then click Send.
Type "pg" in the command line of Tool Crib then click Send.
Type "pc" in the command line of Tool Crib then click Send.
Type "re" in the command line of Tool Crib then click Send.
Type "mp" in the command line of Tool Crib then click Send.
If the preceding steps do not resolve your instrument issue, ensure that your cable is in good condition and that it is connected to the physical COMM port that you selected in step 3. Attempt to validate the functionality of the the PC's communication's port. If a second PC is available, try the same process on a second device.
