Q: I recently purchased a MonacoOPTIXXR kit. I don't seem to be able to adjust the reds, greens, and blues on my Apple monitor to complete the calibration process. Do I need to go into System Preferences - Display - Color and then experiment with selecting AdobeRGB1998, then Adobe RGB, etc., and each of the other choices until the gold arrows line up with the red, green, and blue on the Monaco calibration?
A: The Hardware White Point adjustment option is only for user's whose displays have those controls and are comfortable using them. It is not a necessary step. In fact, most digital LCDs do not have these controls, but still yield excellent results, since the correction can be done within the profile itself.
