Your instrument requires very little maintenance to achieve years of reliable operation. However, to protect your investment and maintain measurement accuracy, a few simple cleaning procedures should be performed from time to time.General Cleaning
The exterior of the instrument may be wiped clean with a cloth dampened in water or mild cleaner.
Note: DO NOT use any solvents to clean the instrument. This will cause damage to the cover.
Cleaning the Instrument Lenses
With the provided Cleaning Kit flip the unit upside down so the Len's are aiming up.
Use the Clean Kit to Clean the Four Len's.
To remove dirt or finger prints, clean with a soft cotton cloth, rubbing in a circular motion. Note: Use of a coarse cloth or unnecessary rubbing may scratch the lens surface and eventually cause permanent damage.
For a more thorough cleaning, use Lens Tissue with Lens Cleaning Fluid provided in Cleaning Kit. Always apply the fluid to the cleaning tissue - never directly on the lens.
For the Smaller Lens the Provided Cotton Swabs are the best for a good cleaning.
Cleaning the White Calibration Reference
Caution should be used when cleaning the cal plaque. DO NOT touch the white reference. Use clean, low-pressure air to remove any dust or debris from the white reference.
For a more thorough cleaning, clean with a Len's Cleaning Solution provided in the Cleaning Kit.
Caution: If the calibration plaque has been cleaned with a damp cloth, wait at least 30 minutesbefore performing a new calibration.
