Resetting an X-Rite MA68
Under some conditions it becomes necessary to reset the microprocessor in an X-Rite Multi-Angle spectrophotometer. Be aware however that an instrument reset is a 'last-resort' decision. Any stored standards or sample data will be deleted if you continue! The following procedure will return your MA (multi-angle) unit factory defaults:
- Remove external power from the unit.
- Wake the unit by pressing the on/off button.
- Press and hold keys 1, 2, and 4 while at the same time pressing the on/off button at the back of the instrument.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
The multi-angle instrument will then display "MEMORY INITIALIZED BY OPERATOR Press Any Key".
- Only for the MA68, press the left key unde "CONT".
The unit is now returned to factory defaults. Immediately following this procedure you must continue by calibrating the unit before measurements may be taken (see Related Support).
